Yeah, for my site I use a "magic word" that users can find in my rules or FAQ. The funniest thing is I notice in my logs (that lock them out if they fail to login/register too often) is that they always tend to put their email address or whatever in the magic word field. It is quite amusing really. I also designed other anti-bot methods as well. Not sure if any could be transferable over to this site if I were to send a script/some code. PHPBB's code makes my head hurt, which is why I designed my own software which is super flexible and easily customizable by the board's owner.
1.X used to like use a power level system until 2.0 went super group and permissions overhaul where things aren't hardcoded. Heck, even the menu is create through a mysql table and displays things with matching permissions.
...ANYWAYS, I don't think I should bore everyone with PHP and Mysql shenanigans. I get too excitable at times due to my high functioning Aspergers. Get me to talk about code and ask me questions about it and my other interests and I'll just be that much closer to dying happy.
Glad to be the first real user since the move. Sorry to hear about ToS problems you've all had. Some hosts are just terribly picky about certain things that honestly is just plain dumb to throw hissy fits over.
Speaking of you writing short stories, Yohamaru, that pretty much describes what I am trying to get myself to do with this forum. I am trying to get it all organized so it is easy to give feedback and tie everything in. The first short story "A Kingrayon's Tale" is suppose to give more background and some more details about this hybrid creature 'class' I made as a kid back 12 or 13 years ago.
If all goes well, I should actually be able to do some major writing this weekend.
