Amy. It's a name given to someone. That person, when called by their name are referred to in the singular tense. He, she, it, you. Now is you were to attach an S to the end of her name then you would be referring to more than one Amy. A group of Amys would use plural pronouns such as they or them. The person who just introduced herself did so in the singularly and therefore should be referred to in the singular appropriate words. Please get it right next time.
And welcome to the forum, friend of Db's.

I notice you said "friend of Db's." Indeed, Amy is a friend. She is a friend of Db. But not a friend of Db's. And may I also question what you meant by "Db's". Db's what? Her house? Her bicycle? A friend of Db's friend? I ask of you to reevaluate what you said, and maybe take some time, alone, to reflect on it. If you want some knowledge that you may be lacking, it's called a double possessive, and has worked its way into an idiom. An idiom one should steer clear of.

Dbs = Plural (more than one Db.)
Db's = Singular possessive (Db that has ownership)
Dbs' = Plural possessive (More than one Db that has ownership {except in the case the singular noun ends with an S. In which case it can be treated as singular possessive.})
And = ConjunctionAnd welcome to the forum, friend of Db's.
Welcome= Verb
To= Preposition
The = Article
Forum = Noun
Friend = Noun
Of = Preposition
Db's = Proper noun (showing possession)

On double possessions.
Do we say "a friend of my uncle" or "a friend of my uncle's"? In spite of the fact that "a friend of my uncle's" seems to overwork the notion of possessiveness, that is usually what we say and write. The double possessive construction is sometimes called the "post-genitive" or "of followed by a possessive case or an absolute possessive pronoun" (from the Oxford English Dictionary, which likes to show off). The double possessive has been around since the fifteenth century, and is widely accepted. It's extremely helpful, for instance, in distinguishing between "a picture of my father" (in which we see the old man) and "a picture of my father's" (which he owns). Native speakers will note how much more natural it is to say "He's a fan of hers" than "he's a fan of her."
